Increase the Height of Your Tonearm on Pro-Ject Debut or Essential Turntables
If you have a Pro-Ject Debut I-III, Debut Carbon, Debut Carbon EVO, or Essential I-III (standard configurations), you might have faced issues with the vertical tracking angle (VTA) after upgrading to an acrylic platter or a thicker mat. This can affect the cartridge's ability to read the record correctly, leading to subpar sound quality.
Our VTA shim is designed to fix this problem. It is 1.5mm thick and can be easily installed to adjust the tonearm height, thus optimizing the VTA. Installing the VTA shim is crucial for achieving the best possible sound from your turntable.
To install the VTA shim, you will need a Philips #1 screwdriver and a 5.5mm nut driver wrench. Please note that this process requires some technical knowledge, and we recommend that you either have a professional do it or be comfortable handling your turntable.
